Unfortunately, he said it over and over as he was holding on to my leg, trying to keep me from leaving when I dropped him off at daycare this morning.
Fortunately, he loves our babysitter's children and they were able to distract him by getting out his breakfast bowl and getting him to bang his spoon around in it. When I left, he was all smiles.
Of course, he hasn't said Mama since.
*I realized after I posted this that my "fortunately, unfortunately" reference is really obscure. It's the children's book Fortunately, one of my many favorites. I had it in my head when I was thinking about the day.

That must have been hard to hear since he didn't want you to leave, but sweet to hear at the same time! That's great that the kids were able to distract him so he would be okay.
OMG that's WONDERFUL and hard. Oh the first time I hear that. ooooooooohhh.
You will hear it again, and enjoy it forever. I still love when my 27 year old daughter calls me "daddy"

That's freaking COOL! He called you Mama! Wooty woot woot!
Awwwwwww, too cute Karen. I hope he has said it more times for you now!
Aww. That is so sweet! It still melts my heart when my 11 month old foster/adopt son calls for me. Sends me running faster than anything!!! I have to admit though with 8 kids in the house there are days I would love to change my name, just for a few minutes. LOL
